Rusthorn

Ethical Monetization Pledge

This is our public pledge to every player who buys a Rusthorn game. We wrote it down so you can hold us to it.

  1. Pay once. Own it.

You buy the game. You own the game. No subscriptions. No season passes. No battle passes. No rotating storefronts. The price you pay at checkout is the price of the game.

  2. No loot boxes. No gacha.

We do not sell randomised outcomes. You will never spend money and not know what you are getting. If it exists in the game, you know what you are paying for before you pay.

  3. No pay-to-win.

Money does not buy a competitive edge. Every mechanic that affects gameplay ships in the base game. We do not sell power, speed, or advantage.

  4. No manufactured urgency.

No limited-time offers designed to pressure you into buying. No countdown timers. No FOMO. No energy systems that run out unless you pay. We do not engineer regret.

  5. Early Access is priced below launch.

If a game enters Early Access, it costs less than it will at full release. You take on risk by buying early. That risk deserves a lower price. The price increases at 1.0.

  6. DLC adds content. It does not unlock the base game.

We will only release paid DLC if it represents a meaningful addition built after launch. Content that belongs in the base game ships in the base game. We do not cut features to resell them.

  7. We are transparent about pricing.

The price you see is the price you pay. No hidden fees. No currency conversions designed to obscure real cost. If a price changes, we announce it clearly in advance.

  8. Bug fixes are free. Always.

Patches, fixes, and improvements to things already in the game will never cost money. Charging for patches is not a business model we will ever use.

We are not a public company. We do not answer to shareholders. Every decision we make on pricing is ours to make. We choose to make these commitments because we believe players deserve to be treated like people, not revenue targets.
